DHA is a non coloured, naturally derived, sugar based ingredient that when applied causes the DHA to react with the amino acids in the skin to create a tanned effect. Results will vary from person to person.
Pregnancy can cause the tan to develop darker.
Exfoliate thoroughly the day before your spray tan. Feet, knees and elbows are important as they are the driest areas.
Exfoliating helps skin to absorb the tanning solution more effectively enabling the tan to last longer and fade more evenly. By not exfoliating, the skin will appear blotchy and uneven after spray tanning.
Thoroughly moisturizing your skin the day before tanning is also a MUST!
Waxing should be completed 12-24 hours and shaving (with a new blade) 8 hours prior to tanning. Razors that have soaps attached to the blade contribute to streaking. Waxing or shaving shouldn’t be done up to 7 days after tanning as this will remove the tan from the waxed or shaved areas.
Shower as usual in the morning; however no deodorant, perfume or moisturizer can be worn as this will affect the tanning process. Minimal makeup is O.K.
Wear loose dark clothing, strapless bra and jandals to your tanning appointment.
A disposable bra, underwear or g-string is available for your comfort, or you are welcome to bring a bikini to wear.
Don't get your tan wet before your post tan shower as this will result in streaking!
Post tan shower (1 - 4 hours after tan has been applied) - rinse all of the tanning solution off until the water runs clear, don't use any body wash. Pat your body dry and thoroughly moisturise.
NB: Your tan will still continue to develop for 8 hours after showering. Daily moisturising will help your tan to last longer. Avoid washing your body excessively as this will strip the tan. Chlorine pools and soaking in spas will fade the tan faster as will using harsh drying soaps. Please note the tan does not include SPF protection.
